Dallas-based artist Carly Allen-Martin is one of my favorite contemporary painters of the moment. Her large abstract canvases, known for their careful placement of line and juxtaposition of saturated color, make such a statement in a space.
In the artist’s words – “The more I paint the more entranced I become with the complexity of color. To me, color is more infinite and imperious than any other form of communication. It is what moves me and contests mYoue. I intend for my work to be a constantly unfolding story that remains simultaneously delicate and commanding.”

A graduate of Texas Christian University, Carly studied art overseas in Florence, Japan and Germany. Her work is represented at Laura Rathe Fine Art in Dallas and Houston, and Artspace 111 in Fort Worth, Texas.
