This spring, we had the honor of designing a vignette for Thrift Studio, the annual fundraiser benefiting Dwell with Dignity. Each year, the non-profit invites a handful of Dallas designers to put together a “room”, and then opens the spaces to the public for shopping – with all sales benefiting the organization. This year’s event was delayed because of COVID, but we’ve been patient and now it’s party time!
For our vignette, we designed a Southern-style dining room. The walls were painted Benjamin Moore Fairfield Green, and the floorplan is anchored by a cerused dining table and set of six newly upholstered shell pink chairs. A big THANK YOU to one of our sponsors, Perennials Fabrics, who supplied textiles from their new collection.
Our space had a tricky open wall, so we disguised it with some trellis (purchased at Home Depot and painted in the garage by yours truly). The drapery panels, generously donated by our workroom Baker & Baker, are finished in a fun Ferrick Mason print represented by The James Showroom. The abstract painting is from one of our favorite Dallas artists, Lindsey Meyer.
I’m betting this textured buffet donated by Made Goods will be one of the first things to go on opening night! A special thank you to Old World Design for sending us these pretty white lamps and The Lamp Shoppe for dressing up our lamps with custom shades, like this cute pair covered in a vintage block print.
Everything in our space is for sale – including the table settings! We had these custom napkins made from donated Lisa Fine Textiles fabrics, and the green chinoiserie bowls are vintage.
We couldn’t have created this beautiful space without the generous donations from our wonderful vendor friends: Acquisitions Dallas, Cuellar Custom Upholstery, Hope Fassett Art, JAMES Showroom, Jennifer Clark, Lakewood Succulents, Made Goods, Old World Design, Perennials, Sally Crawford Studio, The Botanical Mix, The Lamp Shoppe and Truett Fine Carpet & Rugs.
